Q&A with Actor/Comedian, Stevie Mack

Stevie Mack voted top dancer by People magazine in the Oscar nominated Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” music video by Justin Timberlake, which also won a Golden Globe, Grammy and Critics’ Choice Award.

Stevie Mack’s acting and comedic talent keeps him sought after for movie, TV and commercial roles.

Stevie Mack began his acting career when he was 10 years old, as an extra in the movie, “Uptown Saturday Night”. He later joined the Young Saints Academy where he toured Los Angels singing, acting and performing choreography.

He studied Film/TV Production at LACC and USC, taught TV/Film production until he launched his own production company, Promac Group Entertainment and began producing content for Hollywood celebrities.

Stevie Mack made his Stand-Up Comedy debut in 1990 at the World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, California. His award winning one-man shows were launched at the Hollywood Improv Comedy Lab and continues touring to this day.

Recovery Comedy

Q. If you are in recovery, what was your Drug of Choice? and when did you stop using?
A. I mostly use cocaine and heroin but my favorite was whatever you had. 

Q. Do you think addiction is an illness, disease, a choice or a wicked twist of fate?
A. Addiction is both hereditary and environmental and it is classified as a disease by the journals of medicine and science. I found it progresses more and more each time abuse occurs. 

Q. Do you log on to ZOOM 12-step meetings? How often? Do you share?
A. I participate in several Zoom meetings three nights a week. I share and I’m asked to speak had a lot of meetings.

Q. Have you added anything to your Tool-kit to help keep you sober during the pandemic?
A. I’ve had an exercise to my routine during the pandemic.

Q. Where did you grow up?
A. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.

Q. From what school or teacher did you learn the most?
A. Because my mother moved a lot I went to many different schools , but to be honest, I learned the most from Miss Garrett, a teacher at the school where I was locked up in Youth Authority.

Q. If you had an extra million dollars, which charity would you donate it to?
A. My favorite charity is the Salvation Army.

Q. Do you have any children?
A. I don’t have any children but I’ve had two dogs.

Q. Have you started any new projects because of the quarantine?
A. I started attending more classes at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.

Q. If you ever retire would you prefer to live by the ocean, lake, river, mountaintop or penthouse?
A. Ocean.

Q. What is your favorite hotel or resort?
A. Hilton Kanapali in Hawaii 

Q. What is your biggest or littlest pet peeve?
A. I can’t stand it when people tap on things… table, glass, etc.

Q. Who has had the biggest influence on you throughout your life?
A. Believe it or not, TV and movies have had the biggest influence on me throughout my life.

A. Yes…too many to mention…mostly for theft, I was nicknamed Thieven Steven

A. Making the Dean’s Honor list in college. Film School
